Information security is more than just keeping your network safe from hackers. It’s about protecting information and business processes from attackers as well. Further, information security professionals need to be able to think analytically, communicate effectively, and understand the business imperatives of their organizations in order to secure them appropriately. The Security+ certification is the test of all tests for those who want to prove that they have the technical knowledge and analytical skills needed to work as an info-security professional. All you need is a passing grade in one exam to become a Certified Information Security Professional (CISP). This means that you can take one test and pass with flying colors—no matter where you are in your career or which organization you work for.

What you’ll learn with this certification

You’ll learn the skills and knowledge needed to secure a network. You’ll also learn how to plan a cybersecurity strategy, manage risk, and complete audits. And, you’ll learn to defend networks from external threats and control access to sensitive information.

Why is a CISP certification important?

A cyber professional needs to have a basic understanding of information security concepts. This certification provides an overview of cybersecurity that helps professionals demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities for employers and potential employers. A CISP certification also shows experience and proves proficiency in the cybersecurity field. Cybersecurity is a rapidly changing field with new threats and new technologies being developed on an almost daily basis. A CISP certification shows that you have the knowledge and skills to keep up with these changes and that you’re ready to meet the challenges of the cybersecurity field.

The Security+ certification track

The Security+ certification track is made up of two exams, each of which has a 50/50 pass rate. Your goal is to get a passing grade on both exams to become a CISSP. You might also want to consider taking a Cybersecurity Boot Camp to get certified faster.
